This trail spans approximately 10.6 miles and is rated as moderate in difficulty, making it suitable for hikers with some experience. The trail is named for its standout feature: a stretch of aspen trees that turn a brilliant gold in the fall. The trail begins at an elevation of 7,000 feet and gradually ascends close to 9,000 feet, offering a challenging yet rewarding hike. Along the way, hikers will encounter a variety of terrain, including dense forests, open meadows, and rocky outcrops. The trail also crosses several small streams, adding to its diversity.
