Description

This trail is very conveniently located in Boulder, CO making it a perfect study break for college students or a rewarding escape after a stressful day. The views you will witness at the top of the Flatirons makes every minute of the hike worth it, and there are several rocky areas to sit down and take a breather at the top as well.

Starts at about 5900' of elevation, and will amount to a net gain of 255' once you reach the top of the Flatirons. The hike begins fairly easy with minimal effort required. As you progress more towards the cliffs and begin to make your way vertically up the flatiron, the trail becomes much more strenuous. I became tired much sooner than I expected, so I made sure to stop for TONS of water breaks (also so I could absorb all the beautiful views I was missing while hiking). The wall of rocks (as shown in the pictures) was the most difficult part; it was also the most hilarious to my friends and I because we were at a point where we THOUGHT we were almost to the top.... we were painfully surprised with the wall of rocks we still had to climb up. All in all, the hike was very fun and never got boring; one of my favorite hikes so far in Boulder, CO!
