Description

One of Colorado's best places to climb with beautiful views and climbs for literally all levels. Trad climbing and Lead climbing, (as well as mixed). There is a camp site right by the parking lot.

Taking Shelf Road for about 10 miles there will be a parking lot through the second set of gates, that is where you should park if you are climbing (you can go further but it is gated).

Walking down to Shelf Road from the parking lot there is a gate and right beside that are stairs leading down to the trailhead. This trail will take to several different climbing areas - Cactus Gulch and Piggy Bank being the closest. There is Trad climbing here as well as Lead climbing. Most lead climbs are about 6-7 bolts for 1 pitch

All levels can climb here and there are bathrooms near by Cactus Gulch and other areas near the main road. Camping spots are right by the parking lot and cost $7 a night, includes bathroom and fire pits.

I highly recommend a guide book from REI because it is very easy to get lost here!
