Shadow Lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park is a great destination for the whole family. The lake provides a great place to cool off during the warmer summer months.

The Trail:
From the parking area off of Lassen Peak Highway, it is a quick 1.86-mile roundtrip hike to the lake. The trail is relatively well-established single track. Before reaching Shadow Lake, you'll pass Terrace Lake where you'll start to get views of Shadow Lake. Note: the highway is open typically from May until early November.

Fees:
There is a weekly parking fee of ~$30 or you can use your national parks pass if you already have purchased one.

Dogs:
Dogs are NOT permitted at the lake or on the trail.
