Well, who doesn't love cave exploring? If you go far enough back, you will be in total pitch dark!

This cave is hard to find- make sure you ask someone who lives in the area how to find it. You park in a small parking lot, and Mount Shasta is in clear view. There is a trail back through a dry desert-like area. MAKE SURE to wear close toed shoes and pants, because there are rattle snakes. There have also been mountain lion sightings in the desert area, so be careful. After a few minutes, you will come to the mouth of the cave. Going left will only take you a few hundred feet in, but going right will take you deep into the cave. Make sure you bring plenty of light with you, so you don't fall down a hole and tear your meniscus like I did in the picture above! It is a beautiful cave and so eerie!
