Panther Beach
Santa Cruz, California
Description
Added by Diana Mak
Most amazing beach in Santa Cruz, the place I go to, to get a away and relax. From the cliff views to the beach access with a cave leading to another long beach, its amazing. more private on weekdays, crowded on weekends.
There are two spots to park the car, driving up north from south highway 1 on left side you will see lots of cars parked on a dirt road closer to the beach access, if you keep driving down you'll see another place to park on the left side (smaller), across from it you'll see a strawberry farm, but you would have to do about a quarter mile walk following the train tracks to the beach view, not long and very beautiful scenery.
Once you get to beach view, you'll have to do a small climb down, very easy. You'll see the beach and the "hole in the wall" that leads to another beach. Depending on how high or low the tide is,you can cross through the hole to the other side. Once you are there you'll see a long beach and some big rocks/cliffs that you can climb and explore on.
So me and my friend decided to climb the big one, and found there was a cave in the big cliff, took some photos and then went on the very top for a pretty view of panther beach.
Swimming was a little bit dangerous unless you like an amazing swimmer, the tide is veeeerrrrryyy strong and easily get swept up. so be careful, I just went up to my hips. To actually swim I got to Sea cliff state beach to swim in Santa Cruz its more cleaner and nice enough waves to go body surfing.
Walking back to the car (we parked across the farm) right before going back uphill to the car to the right we went left up hill to the cliffs, in spring you would see fields and fields of blooming flowers on the cliffs. There you will see the most beautiful views of panther beach and just sunsets/sunrises or just sitting there and relaxing.
I made the most amazing memories here with friends/family. Every time I go here I forget about my worries. I go about every 1-2 months and I live in Sacramento
Cant wait to go back here again!
