All of us want to travel the world and enjoy memorable vacations. But, something makes you rethink suddenly!! You are right!! The budget!! There is a myth that only rich people or people who have highly paid jobs can afford to go on vacations. Not necessarily. A limited budget need not affect the quality of your trip. In fact, a predetermined budget and limited funds can improve your vacation. Here are a few tips to travel on your budget yet have all the fun that you expect.

  • Chalk out a budget before the trip: Instead of dropping out on the plan of your vacation due to budget constraints, plan and save some amount well in advance for the trip. When you plan a budget, you will have to cut down on your expensive spontaneous temptations like drinks, cigarettes, movies, etc. and spend only on what you really need. Slash your wants off the list and save more. Even to plan for the expenses on the trip, plan only for those items within your budget. Save money and enjoy your trip.
  • Plan in advance: If you are planning for a trip, plan it at least six months in advance. This way, you can book flights and hotels early for lesser prices. You could also shop around and make a note of eateries where you could stop and opt for the ones that are best as well as reasonably priced to suit your budget.
  • Travel when it is off-peak season: Make sure you plan your holidays when the crowd is lesser. This way, you get hotels and flights for a cheaper price. Also, during these times, lesser crowds means shorter waiting time even at the places of tourist attraction.
  • Plan your accommodation: If you are travelling in large groups or planning for an extended stay, avoid hotels as far as possible. Instead, plan for renting an apartment. You may have to pay some deposit but is works cheaper compared to hotels. If you plan for shorter stays and have less people in the group, look for hostels in that area. This can cost you less than a fraction of what it would cost you for a hotel. See if you have any relatives or friends in that place, localites with whom you can accommodate. Save your accommodation costs accordingly.
  • Check for Discounts and Coupon codes: Even before you plan your vacation, look for websites which offer coupon codes and discounts for travelling. Some sites offer discounts on flight charges, while some offer discounts on hotels. Checkout some daily deal websites that offer discounts on everything from local eateries to resort packages to full vacation packages. Visit Couponobox.com to get the best discount on traveling. Also, find out establishments which offer, student, senior citizen and AAA discounts. Such savings can account for a lot in your budget.
  • Choose less-expensive locations: Choose a path less-travelled and be different. Choose a less-expensive location. Heavy- tourist locations tend to be overpriced mostly. Instead, visit local attractions and places with lesser crowd. This not only saves you money, it also helps you discover a different side of your destination.
  • Cut down on food expenses: If possible, try to stack up your own food, sandwiches and snacks for the trip. Avoid buying meals at the airport or try not spending at the hotel minibar. These small expenses can add up very fast and burn a hole in your pocket.

Also, see if you could travel with your friends with whom you can split expenses of accommodation, food etc. This way, both of you can save on your trip expenses and enjoy!! So, when are you planning your vacation? Begin rite away!! Follow the above tips, travel on your budget and have fun!! Bon Voyage!!
