After a rewarding 697m climb, the summit of Devil's Peak produces a full extensive panoramic view of the Southern Flinders Ranges including Quorn, Pichi Richi Pass, Wilpena Pound and the Upper Spencer Gulf.
The Devil's Peak Hike is a moderately difficult bush walk through deep scrub and sharp cliff faces. The walk progresses it quickly increases in difficulty when you find yourself climbing over rocks and steep terrain.
The hike is easily followed with the well worn track through scrub and up the cliff face. Keep an eye out for the red arrows also placed around the track to reassure you on directions. The hike takes anywhere from 1.5-3 hours (2.4km) and is free! The land is owned privately and you pass through a gate to the car park (be sure to close it behind you!)
The summit of the hike is so rewarding after putting in a solid effort to reach the top. The 360 degree view gives you a full view of the variety of the surrounding landscapes. I highly recommend this to anyone passing through the area or even looking for a weekend away out of Adelaide (around 4 hours away). You won't be disappointed with this one!
