I've done this adventure multiple times, in the summer, spring, and fall. Each time has been great and unique.

I hiked the Appalachian trail that runs through the park and it is fantastic. It is clearly marked and the views along the way are amazing. Plus there is an old fire tower at one of the stopping points. Just be prepared for some hills.
