Colin Peters
About 8 miles round-trip, but practically all on flat ground. The trail begins by looping around the Mesa for a few miles before ascending the couple hundred ft slope. From there it is level all the way to the summit marker. Good scenery the whole way - with lots of chances for wildlife spotting (tarantulas in the evening!) The volcano which formed the igneous rock on Black Mesa (which is where the name comes from) is visible from the summit on a clear day - awesome!
