Unnamed Road - Search Nearby - Added by Julie & Brian
Explore the volatile landscape of Yellowstone's hottest geyser basin.
The Norris Geyser Basin is Yellowstone's most acidic and varying hydrothermal area. Since it is located along three fault lines, seismic activity causes the flow of water, and its chemistry, to change. The water can significantly alter the landscape, so even if you have been here before, it might be worth another visit to see what is different!
The Norris Geyser Basin is hard to miss, as it is located just off of the Norris Junction. Signs will direct you to a rather large parking area, however, despite it being one of the larger in the park, it still fills up quickly. So, be sure to visit early or later in the day to avoid crowds.
