Description

Added by Theresa Wang

360 degree views await atop one of the highest peaks in Yellowstone National Park.

Starting at Dunraven Pass, the trail climbs steadily on a wide, mostly exposed, and well-maintained trail. Keep climbing and soon enough you'll reach the lookout at an elevation of 10,219 feet. On clear days, you can see Old Faithful and the Tetons from the lookout. Rest up, soak in the views, and head down the way you came.

Another way to summit is through Chittenden Road on the northern side of Mount Washburn. From the parking lot, it's about 5.8 miles to the top with the same elevation gain.

Keep your eyes peeled for deer, bighorn sheep, and bears. As always, practice Leave No Trace principles.
