This a beautiful hike filled with wildlife, wildflowers and a roaring waterfall at the end.

The Granite Falls hike begins at the Green Mountain Trailhead. It's also the starting point for a few other hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. Columbines are in abundance along the trail. At 1.8 miles you come to Big Meadows and a split in the trail. Continue hiking around the meadow keeping your eyes open for moose and bear. You'll walk through a section of forest that was burned in a forest fire. You can smell the char of the blackened trees. The floor is covered in yellow flowers and provides stunning contrast against the burnt trees. Continue hiking, you'll cross the stream a few times. The park has done a great job building bridges and safe river crossings. After 5.3 miles you arrive at Granite Falls
