Hike to Moulton and Yacolt Falls

5 Miles Round Trip - 250 ft gain - Out-and-Back Trail

Hantwick Parking Area - Search Nearby - Added by Tim Ploeger

Easy, flat, family-friendly hike or run to a beautiful bridge, waterfall and river with rocks to sit and rest on.

The Hantwick trailhead is super easy to find and has a big parking lot which makes this hike really easy even in the middle of a sunny day.  As you round a bend coming up on the parking lot you will see a trailhead, but keep going about 100 feet and you will see the main parking lot with a separate trailhead that meets up to the same trail.

The trail is wide and flat and climbs ever so subtly for about 2.5 miles until you reach the iconic bridge from the photos.  Follow the trail down to the left and you can walk out onto the rocks in the river.  Continue a bit more to see Moulton Falls.

Additionally, if you follow the trail to the right after the bridge and head up towards the parking lot, you can see Yacolt Falls and connect with a handful of other trails that run along the river.

Good Family Hike

Easy scenic trail for the whole family. We saw kids on the trail, bikes, and dogs on leash. Wasn't crowded, but there were a lot of people out enjoying the sunshine and hanging out on the rocks down by the river. We saw a few people on horseback as well.

Nice, easy, quiet trail

A nice place for a walk or run, easy parking. Listen to the rushing river while on a wide hard packed path.
