A short hike to see an old growth forest in Olympic National Park. Amazing shades of green along this well shaded trail.

About one mile past the Salmon Cascade Exhibit on Sol Duc - Hot Springs Road is a pull out for a .5 loop walk through an old growth forest. There is some signage before you get to the pull off which is on the right hand side when driving in from Route 101. This is a very easy trail to follow and the scenery is great. There are no expansive views but the shades of green from so many different types of vegetation is hard to describe. Although this is a short hike, it was one of my favorite walks in the park.  The loop is on a small track of land between the Sol Duc River and Sol Duc - Hot Springs Road.  The trail is not named on any map.  I only stopped because of the sign that states "old growth forest" and a pull out along the road.  When I stopped to explore, I found the trail.  It is well maintained.
