This is an awesome hike on soft terrain through a steep forest

There are two parking lots.  We parked at the lower lot and hiked in on the road till we found the landslide-like entrance on the right hand side. That is where you enter the forest and hike in between trees.  It is an unmaintained trail so it is not easy to follow but it is a great trip into the backcountry.

Towards the top the view gets better as you come out of the trees.  You can see neighboring peaks and valleys.  It really is a beautiful hike.  Let me remind you thought, it is steep.  There are no switchbacks just a constant up and up and up.  We stopped at the top under a rock shelter and had lunch then we headed back down.  When we were done we exited at the top road and ran down to our car
