Great day hike and picnic around the lakes Little Eightmile Lake, Eightmile Lake, and Caroline Lake. If you make it up to Windy Pass you might run into Bears and Goats. Amazing views of the mountains. Close to town - Leavenworth, WAEveryone we ran into was really friendly.

The hike to the lake was an uphill battle for the first 1/2 mile but after that it leveled out and got easier. The struggle was made better by the amazing views of the mountains in the meantime.

At Little Eightmile lake you can make a right and head up to Caroline Lake and up to Windy Pass. If you go straight you will make your way to Eightmile Lake. Here there are plenty of campsites available, but to stay the night you need to apply for an over night pass at recreation.gov.

Driving Directions:
From Hwy 2 in Leavenworth, head south on Icicle Road. Drive for 8.4 miles and turn left onto FR 7601, marked for the Eightmile Trailhead. 3 miles down the road, there will be a small parking lot on the left.
