From Railroad Tracks to Trail, this new and improved corridor is makeover worth seeing!

Just when you think all of the good trails are in the mountains, think again. Once referred to as the North Pacific Railroad grade, the Cross Kirkland Corridor underwent a major facelift in 2015 and is now a great place to for outdoor activities. Kirkland is an active community known for its upbeat environment, lakefront luxuries, and its proximity to Bellevue and Seattle; thus making this little town a desirable place to live, work or visit. With the commitment to keep residents active and healthy, to keep wildlife safe, and to set a standard of sustainable economic development, the trail is a robust extension of this small urban town. Located just a few minutes East of Downtown Kirkland, the Cross Kirkland Corridor gravel trail spans 6 miles long, 16 feet wide and is perfect for biking, running and walking. Along the trail you will see mile markers and maps indicating your location. There are numerous places to park along the trail; however the most common place is the Google parking lot, located on 5th Place South. Google has transformed areas along the trail making it a fun place for families to hang out. The expansion includes a playground, zip line, outdoor gym, sand volleyball court, basketball court, and there is even a train! It is open to the public and is accessible all year long. Feel free to utilize the benches and picnic tables, or better yet, bring a blanket and have a picnic in the huge grass lawn! Follow the trail just a few steps North of the Google Campus and you will be introduced to Chainline – a pet and kid friendly brewery conveniently located right on the trail! Chainline is open Tuesday thru Sunday and so don’t forget to stop in for an ice cold refreshment on those hot summer days. Whether you complete the 12 mile round-trip adventure or just visit a portion, the Kirkland Corridor trail is a great place to get out and enjoy the fresh Northwest air! Please remember to keep our trails clean and pack out what you pack in!
