Stewart falls is a great 4-mile roundtrip hike with stunning views of that falls and great opportunities to witness fall colors if you're hiking as the leaves change. This is a dog-friendly trail.

The canyon is closed during snowfall so this is only accessible between May-Nov usually. It is best during the fall when the leaves have changed color, but let's be honest, it's always great. Head up Provo Canyon and follow the signs to make a left going into Sundance. Follow the road past the ski resort and lodge until you see a parking lot on the left just near the kiosk entering the Alpine Loop.

The waterfall is beautiful and is located at the end of the trail (about 2 miles). It takes about 30min-1hr to get to the falls depending on how quickly you're moving. The falls are a great place to hang out or picnic and the whole area is shaded in the early afternoon. There is parking at the trailhead, but you need to pay 2 dollars to get a parking pass.

Hike to Stewart Falls Reviews

I loved this hike! It was just a perfect way to get out and see amazing things! Proposed to my wife here and now it will forever be a perfect memory!

The mountains surrounding this area are absolutely stunning. They are even more beautiful when they first start to get snow. This is a pretty hike, and the falls, are pretty. It is nice that the trail is pretty quick to get to from Provo. A nice hike for an afternoon. I would really enjoy going back and seeing it covered in ice. While you are in the area, I would recommend taking the time to drive the Aspen Loop too.

This trail is usually pretty packed, even early in the morning. I've done it twice on rainy days and that's when it was the most fun; no crowds and the clouds make for some awesome light.
