Kanarra Falls is an intermediate to advanced 3.6-mile roundtrip hike. There is some scrambling involved, climbing up at least two waterfalls.

Kanarra Falls is a gem of a hike that takes you into the Kanarraville slot canyons in southern Utah and the infamous Kanarra Falls. After hiking half a mile or so from the parking lot on a fairly open trail the canyon slots up. This is where the fun begins. Here you will have to walk through the water into the slot canyon, following the water upstream the rest of the way. After another half mile, you will be treated to one of the coolest 15-foot waterfalls you will ever see. You will have to climb up a tree trunk/ladder to the right before you reach another waterfall. Scramble up the canyon to the right to keep going for more cascading falls. You can keep going as far as you like as the canyon opens up or turn around and follow the same route back to the parking lot.

This canyon is located in the town of Kanarraville, north of Kolob Canyon, Utah. GPS Kanarraville, Utah, then as you drive into the downtown on Old US Hwy 91 (which becomes Main Street), look for E 100 N St and drive east three blocks until you reach the gated dirt road that heads up into the hills. Park in the lot to the left ( GPS 345 E 100 N St. Kanarraville, UT 84742)

Kanarra Falls via Kanarraville Slot Canyon Reviews

Did this hike in the beginning of spring and it was beautiful! I never expected something so fun to be in this location! I wore Tevas so my feet could dry out while I wasn't in the water. Since it was spring the water was freezing so make sure to bring a pair of dry socks and shoes to change into once you're on your way back and pass the water. There's a lot of switch backs through the river and it doesn't matter which trail you follow cause they all meet up just try to stay close to the river and you'll be good. I don't mind paying for parking if it benefits the wildlife but I'm pretty sure the parking payment was run by the townspeople. So I would suggest parking lower in the town which isn't much further of a walk. If you don't care where your money goes it's 10$ and make sure to bring cash. I highly suggest this hike but be smart and check the weather if you plan to go into the slot canyon.

I finally got to check this hike out and immediately fell in love with it. The huge rock walls reminded me a lot of Zion's narrows. Since it was a snowy day in January we had the whole canyon to ourselves. If you go in the winter make sure to dress warm and have tall waterproof boots to keep your feet dry.

Beautiful slot canyon outside of Zion. Watch for the occasional rockfall, lost a camera to it last year.
