Description

Added by Andy Brough

Moderate to difficult ascent and descent, beautiful views, and animal sightings.

Mount Baldy is one of the closest peaks to the Snowbird Tram. For an easier hike, take the tram to the top, head towards Peruvian lift, and have a nice, moderate hike to the top.

For a more lengthy hike, skip the tram and walk from the bottom!

There is an antenna and a ski patrol sled at the summit, as well as plenty of space to hang out. views are available in every direction!

If you're in a hurry or aren't at least a moderately able hiker, hiking back the way you came is a great idea. If you're up for a challenge, keep going down the back way! It starts with a nice, gradual trail through wildflowers (in July), quickly followed by the more challenging part.

It's a dusty, steep, cliff-like scramble down. There are rocks and branches to grab onto.

Once you reach the bottom, there's a ski lift to find shade under before embarking on the easy, but long, walk back around the mountain to connect back to Peruvian Tunnel.
