Camp at the Rockport State Park Yurts

Peoa, Utah

Description

Added by Will Yeomans

Staying in the yurts is a great way to get out for a weekend without giving up some comforts of home. It also lets you step outside and do other activities such as fishing and boating or ice fishing and snowshoeing in the winter.

The yurts at Rockport are a great way to get out into nature. You can chose between yurts or cabins. Yurts cost $70 a night and cabins cost $80 a night. Spots will have to be secured with reservations in advance. You can find more information at http://rockportmarina.checkfront.com/reserve/. There is a shop there that is usually open and you can purchase some food and drink there but I wouldn't rely on it for food.

Depending on the time of year many different activities can be done near the yurts. Rockport Reservoir is just a couple hundred feet from the yurt. You can go fishing, swimming, boating, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing in the summer. Winter activities include snowshoeing, ice fishing, and you could cross country ski.

Make sure to clean up after yourself and keep it cleaner than you came so others can enjoy it too.
