You do not have to be a mountain biker to enjoy Gooseberry Mesa, but it certainly helps. The slick rock, 10 mile trail allows for pure freedom out in the desert.

The campsites offered are abundant and all have incredible views no matter where you stay. Catch the sunrise, catch the sunset, and watch the weather take over the area even. You can clearly see all of Zion National Park in the distance as well.

The drive out is all desert dirt road which is shared by the low-land farmers so be weary when traveling there if storms are expected, unless you have a vehicle that's able to handle the drive (a low sitting Subaru did successfully make it out there though). Also, it's a reasonable distance from the nearest town so make sure to grab everything you'll need before driving out.

You can follow the 4-wheel drive road all the way out to Observation Point on the Mesa which overlooks some of the most amazing features of the desert.
