Enjoy this beautiful turquoise lake and scenery near Logan, Utah. There are plenty of places to camp and the lack of light pollution makes it a great place for star photography.
You will start from the Tony Grove Lake parking lot and start hiking northeast on the White Pine Lake trailhead. The trail is roughly 3.8 miles to the lake through beautiful Quaking Aspens and Pines. The first 2.5 miles are fairly easy with a slight incline. You will then reach the top of a ridge and be able to see a beautiful basin with Mt. Gog to your North and Mt. Magog to your West. White Pine Lake is nestled in the valley between these two peaks. From here it is all downhill as you descend into the basin on fairly steep switchbacks and then West towards the lake.
When you arrive there are plenty of spots to pitch a tent or hang a hammock. There are also many fire rings for a nice warm fire before bed. Once camp is all set up, you can fish, sit by the lake and enjoy the scenery, or even take some awesome pictures of the Milky Way later in the night. In the morning you can pack up and hike back or even continue on the trail to some of the other beautiful lakes in this region of Logan Canyon.
