The scenery at the end of the hike is a classic scene of high mountain lake with a jaw dropping backdrop of mountain peaks. If you have time to spare, there are two lakes off to the east that provide more solitude . You can backcountry camp at any of these lakes but it is a popular trail so you will have some crowds. If you want solitude wake up early and hit it during the week if you can. This trail can take up to three hours to hike up for the normal human, and there is plenty of scenery to take in along the way. If you want to burn some calories, one could hoof it up in an hour and some change. Be sure to take your camera on this one. Early morning and evenings are a treat, and the fall colors might make you never want to leave. About 2 miles up, you will get to an obvious boulder field, this is a switchback in the trail so make sure to head back and up and not across the boulder field.-The Lake Blanche Trailhead is 4.4 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Mill B South Fork Picnic area.
