Arrive Sawai Madhopur

The closet train station to Ranthambore is Sawai Madhopur from where you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Due to train arrival times we will not be visiting the park today, the rest of the day is free to explore Sawai Madhopur town.

Jeep Safari in Ranthambore National Park

You will be picked up early and be transported into the National Park which is only 12km from town. Of all places to view tigers in India, the best odds for sighting a tiger are in Ranthambore, with its tiger population of around 20. Other animals that you may spot whilst on safari include leopard, sloth bears, jackals, palm civets, crocodiles and a vast array of birdlife and reptiles. Flora enthusiasts will also be impressed by the range of trees, shrubs and flowers that are found within the park. We will stop at the impressive Chauhan Fort which was once a commanding structure overlooking the plains but now lies in ruins. However the ruins provide a mystic feel that also provided Rudyard Kipling’s inspiration for his "The Jungle Book". At the end of the day we return to Sawai Madhopur for overnight accommodation.

Trip concludes in Sawai Madhopur

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to the train station for your onward connection.
