It is true. Some barren lands on this planet turn out to be the most outrageously gorgeous spectacles on earth. We are going to venture into the best kept secrets in the trekking world - Ladakh and specifically the Markha Valley in the Indian Himalayas. This region has the same landscapes as Tibet, and has been dubbed as Little Tibet; but with less hassle in terms of permits etc. The plan is to do high altitude trekking. We will also visit the monasteries in the area and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the town of Leh. This is a special trip as you will be guided by our female local trekking guide jointly with our female trip leader via Peak Explorations as a way to empower women on both sides of the world! By joining this trip, you will be supporting the local Ladakhi women who work in the trekking tourism industry where men continue to dominate in the roles of guides and porters. Note: This is a co-ed trip led by a team of Ladakhi women as guide and porters.
