Additional Information

With an idyllic island camp and virtually no other outfitted groups on the water, OARS guests enjoy unprecedented solitude in a pristine backcountry setting at the base of the Tetons. Hikes, waterfalls, fishing and ultra-photographic landscapes surround you. Paddle beneath a cowboy country moon and the same starry skies that lured the gaze of ancient tribes and settlers. During the day, Jackson Lake's calm waters are perfect for paddlers to learn their first sea kayaking stroke. And just beyond the Grand Tetons peaks, less than an hour away, lie the geothermal wonders and wildlife of Yellowstone National Park. Our Jackson Lake Kayaking trip makes a great active addition to any Jackson Hole or Yellowstone vacation package. What could be more fun?

  • Sea kayak on Jackson Lake with expert guides
  • Hike & Explore in Grand Teton National Park
  • Cozy catered camping on Grassy Island under a star-filled sky
  • Delicious meals prepared by your guides
  • Watch for moose, elk and bison

Our Jackson Hole adventure begins at Signal Mountain where you'll learn kayak basics. Boat-supported kayaking to Grassy Island -- OARS special Jackson Lake camp. Hike to Moran Creek, fish for cutthroat trout, read a book, paint a sunset. Hike up a rushing creek to spectacular vistas overlooking the lake. Sleep under the stars of the wide Wyoming sky, evening campfires after a paddle by moonlight. Kayak countless inlets and miles of shoreline that beg to be explored. Encounter a moose drinking from the shallows, an eagle perched in a nearby fir. Spend the afternoon hiking trails or taking a swim before returning to Signal Mountain for the conclusion of our Jackson Lake Wyoming vacation.
