On a clear day we may gain views of Mount Everest as well as other snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan range to the east. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.

The afternoon is free to wander down to the lake or relax and watch the world go by from the many restaurants and cafes in town. Overnight at our private eco camp site.

Fly Pokhara to Jomsom (2713m)

This morning we take a spectacular flight up the Kali Gandaki dwarfed beneath Himalayan giants such as Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. Jomsom is set on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River and is deep in the heart of the Annapurnas. This afternoon will be spent checking our bikes and making final preparations for the cycling days ahead. Overnight wilderness camp.

To Kagbeni (2810m) (3-4hrs, 32km)

Kagbeni, located in lower Mustang, is an impressive village and is the gateway to the Mustang region. For those travelling into the restricted area of Mustang a special permit is required beyond this point. We will spend some time wandering around this medieval town with it's fascinating alleyways and typical Tibetan architecture. The riding today is along dirt roads and is non-technical, 45% uphill and 55% downhill. Overnight wilderness camp.

Kagbeni to Muktinath (3802m) (4-5hrs, 14kms)

Today's riding is partly jeep track and off road and so at times we will be travelling along a less defined trail. Sitting at the foot of the Thorang La, Muktinath is a sacred place both for Hindus and Buddhists located in the Muktinath Valley, and is part of the Mustang district. The Hindus call the sacred place Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the "place of salvation". Mainly the temple is with a predominant Sri Vaishnava origin and worshipped by Buddhists. Overnight wilderness camp.

Muktinath to Marpha (2665m) (7-8hrs, 32kms)

The greater majority of our riding today is downhill, we will pass through numerous villages during out descent. Marpha is our destination and overnight stop. It is a village of approximately 460 households. The name itself reflects the "mar" meaning hard working and "pha" meaning people. The village relies heavily on tourism and mule breeding. This part of the ride is notorious for it's high winds, so make sure you have your shell jacket with you today. Riding:40% uphill, 60% downhill. Overnight wilderness camp.

Marpha to Ghasa (2000m) (5-6hrs, 15kms)

An enjoyable day of descents today on a mixture of non technical single and jeep track as we descend further to Ghasa. We enjoy the stunning views of Dhaulagiri and the Nilgiris as we wind our way down. Riding: 90% downhill, 10% uphill Overnight wilderness camp.

To Nayapul (1340m) (7-8hrs, 112kms)

A big day today however the majority of our ride is on sealed road. Nayapul is the starting point for many trekkers in the Annapurnas, and is a busy road head centre. Riding: 70km tarmac, 42kms off road Overnight wilderness camp.

To Pokhara

The ride from Nayapul to Pokhara will take 4 - 5 hours, and is a sealed road the entire way. In Pokhara we overnight in our own private eco camp site. Once settled in we highly recommend you take a stroll down to the lake at Pokhara, there are many stores selling Tibetan wares which are less expensive than Kathmandu. The main street running along the lake is a vibrant and interesting place to sit and watch the world go by. Overnight private eco campsite.

Rest or explore in and around Pokhara

This day can be spent either relaxing or there are a number of rides to do from Pokhara. Please discuss options with your leader if you would like to ride today. Overnight private eco campsite.

Additional Information

The Annapurna Circuit for many years has been considered one of the finest and most complete treks in the world. The recent development of single lane roads into this stunning mountain range have not only brought progress to some of Nepal's communities but for adventurous cyclists, new and exciting routes. The Kali Gandaki Valley has now become an ideal region to mountain bike in Nepal. Few trails on earth can compare with the grandeur of the deepest gorge in the world, set between the two 8000m peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Flying into Jomsom, we explore the trails of this spectacular region before descending to Pokhara via wonderful villages that are home to Buddhist mani walls and prayer wheels, apple orchards and even hot springs. After a well earned rest in Pokhara we continue our ride along the southern section of the Annapurna Circuit passing by terraced fields to the mighty Marsyandi River. Here we leave the majestic Annapurna behind as we head cross country to the ancient town of Gorkha, where we transfer back to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.
