Additional Information

Trek along Guatemala’s Sky Route on this four-day, three-night journey between two of Guatemala’s most beautiful and inspiring destinations: The city of Antigua and Lake Atitlán in the Guatemalan Highlands. Forged from ancient walking paths used for millennia by the Mayan people, the Sky Route connects Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its Spanish colonial architecture, to Lake Atitlán, Central America’s deepest lake. Surrounded by volcanoes and Mayan villages, Lake Atitlán has long been known as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

During your trek, you’ll walk through lush cloud forest canopy and coffee fincas, be immersed in the sights and sounds of Guatemala’s living Mayan culture and communities, and be amazed by the kindness and warmth of its people. Unforgettable experiences await as you hike along trails through dense jungle, take in the panorama of volcanic peaks around Lake Atitlán, meet local artisans and farmers, and maybe even witness the power of the lava flows and plumes from the highly active Fuego Volcano (from a safe distance).

The guides at Trek Guatemala have carefully crafted this small group adventure for maximum enjoyment, the best scenery, and a positive impact on the community. Each day you’ll travel light with day packs while porters move camp and your gear from one breathtaking destination to the next. Enjoy the spacious safari-style tent camps, an overland “trek truck” with a hot shower, sink, and toilet, delicious food and drink, and knowledgeable local guides.
