Itinerary

Arrive in Chile

Meet your MT Sobek guides at Temuco airport in La Araucania and transfer to Corralco Hotel, taking in the lush greens of the endemic forests as you go. In the afternoon, choose between a relaxing afternoon at the hotel spa or an exhilarating short hike through the Araucaria forests surrounding the hotel. Meet in the evening for a welcome celebration and dinner together.

Raft the Lower Cautin River

Start your whitewater adventure at Salto de la Princesa (Princess Falls), paddling through Class III rapids and lush green canyons on the lower section of the Cautin River. This is a great introductory run with plenty of small rapids and drops with nice pools below. Afterwards, travel to your accommodation for the night, an eco-lodge in the impressive Conguillio National Park with great views of the active Llaima Volcano. Take a short hike to see the ancient lava fields before enjoying dinner with the group.

Paddle the Truful Truful

After breakfast, you have the option to explore some of the trails in the national park before heading to today's put-in point in the Truful Truful canyon. Halfway down this section of Class III whitewater rapids, we will make a short portage around the spectacular Truful Truful Falls, where the fast-flowing water catches the light, offering shimmering rainbow reflections. Following a picnic lunch, continue by road to Pucon, Chile's adventure tourism capital.

Head to the Lower Liucura River

Enjoy the morning at your leisure, visiting the hotel's spa and gardens or heading into town to explore. After lunch, head to the lower Liucura River for an afternoon of inflatable kayaking or rafting. On the way back, visit the Termas Geometricas (Geometric Hot Springs), an architectural masterpiece with hot and cold pools located in a stunning canyon. Stop into the town of Villarrica on the opposite side of the lake to enjoy an evening meal overlooking the Lake.

Raft Maichin River Canyons

Spend an amazing day rafting on the Maichin River located near the Mapuche community of Reigolil. Travel through amazing canyons as you paddle through the crystal-clear water on Class IV rapids. Along the way, stop for a picnic on the shores of the river. In the evening, experience Mapuche cuisine at a local restaurant.

Tackle the Upper & Lower Trancura

Another epic day awaits on one of the most famous rivers in the Pucon area. Take on the Trancura River for an incredible white water adventure with amazing views of Villarrica Coolcano. Run the Class IV Upper Trancura in the morning, stop for lunch at a private quincho on the banks of the river, then finish on the mostly calm, Class III rapids of the Lower Trancura.

Paddle the River Fuy

Spend the morning driving beside three different but equally beautiful lakes, stopping for a lakeside picnic that will provide the energy to fuel our afternoon on the spectacular River Fuy, which runs through the Huilo Huilo nature reserve. Raft the lower section of the Fuy, known as "Bridge to Bridge." After checking in to the Marina del Fuy lakeside hotel, explore the Huilo Huilo reserve and a Patagonian microbrewery.

Raft the San Pedro

Today we embark on a two-day whitewater trip down the San Pedro River (often referred to as the Futaleufu of the north). After three to four hours of Class III+ rapids, stop at the halfway point to set up camp for the night and enjoy a group celebration for our final night together.

Last Day on the San Pedro & Depart

After packing up camp, tackle the rest of the San Pedro River run, including the biggest rapid, El Reloj (The Clock). Take out at a small, family-owned cabana and enjoy a well-deserved shower before the drive back to Temuco for the return flight.
