In Jasper National Park you don't have to go far off the Icefields Parkway to see amazing scenery. That said, if you hike just a few miles into the backcountry, you'll find the roadside views pale in comparison. Whether you're looking for a quick day hike or plan to spend a few days hiking and sleeping under the stars, Jasper has something for you. 1. Hike to Bald Hills

The panoramic views of Maligne Lake and the Queen Elizabeth Ranges on this hike are a feast for the eyes. Bring plenty of water and hit the trail early if you’re heading up in the warmer months. Learn more.

2. Hike to Wilcox Pass

Hike through gorgeous alpine meadows to catch sweeping views of the Athabasca and Dome Glaciers as well as the towering Mt. Athabasca and Snow Dome. Keep your eyes peeled for bighorn sheep! They frequent the area. Learn more.

3. Hike to Geraldine Lakes

Despite the relatively manageable distance on this hike, it can be a a bit of a challenge. You’ll need to navigate your way through some tricky boulder fields but the views will be worth it! Learn more.

4. Hike the Saturday Night Loop

If you typically pack a fishing pole on your hikes, you’ll love the Saturday Night Loop. If you prefer to shred the trails on two wheels, even better: you can easily bike it as a day ride. If you want to backpack (or bike pack) there are several great options for backcountry campsites. Learn more.
