Hike the AT to Grassy Ridge

Looking across the paring lot you will see a few steps and a bulletin board, which leads you up to the trailhead. From there you will walk in the woods for .5 of a mile and the emerge out of the woods into the balds on top of the first mountain. On a clear day you will already have a beautiful view of all the mountains in the distance and you will start to see the trail you will be hiking on in the distance. The balds are absolutely beautiful, you will see wildflowers, maybe some animals, and the view is just stunning. You will hike for 2 miles and then the trail will split, follow the sign that says Grassy Ridge. From there you can hike as far as you want. We hiked all the way to the big rock with the plaque on it and then ate lunch up there!

Check the weather before you go, but don't be put off by a tiny bit of fog. When we arrived around 10am there was a ton of fog, but we stuck it out and it was worth it, the fog cleared and it was a beautiful day! There is a public bathrooms in the parking lot, no water fountain though.
