Just attempted this hike yesterday! The TFS Road is definitely doable with a 2WD vehicle (we had our 4WD truck for this). It's one of the best-maintained gravel roads we've been on. Once you get to the spur road mentioned, you definitely need a 4WD car. The walk to get to the actual trailhead is not very long (maybe 20-25 min). Once you get to the start of the hike though, it's all uphill and definitely not an easy hike :) I would say moderate to difficult. We saw a few people hiking up prepared to stay the night, which is probably the best idea unless you get here early morning and have time to enjoy the meadows at the top before heading down. We turned back unfortunately after a few km, as we thought this was a hike in open space (as the photos show), but it's actually all enclosed forest. Pretty good workout I think, if you do the whole thing. We just weren't prepared for that much of a hike commitment :P Next time we'll know and definitely come more prepared. I bet the meadows are super beautiful.
