Wonderful little gem to start your morning off the rocks can be slick after a rain

Amazing views from the ridge looking down at carving cove. I didn’t quite expect such an incline in some bits but nothing to bad. all and all my pup and I enjoyed it, though the buzz from the power lines does kill the atmosphere a little.

Very steep and narrow, not a beginner hike by any means despite the short distance though the lovely view and chestnut forest at the top make it worth the effort

Super fun short hike and an amazing place to climb

It's a really fun road to drive up and the view is amazing and much better then the over crowded mill mountain but the sunset from the top is something worth the trip

This is by far my favorite hike of the Roanoke area the hike up is amazing but when you hit the fest rock climbing/scrambling the real fun starts if you aren't use to this you will be sore the next day but it's worth every second the view from the tooth is truly amazing

It's a nice spot to do a little wild life photography or take the dog for a walk but as far as a hike goes it's more of an over grown nature walk.

One of my favorite hikes to introduce people to the idea of hiking it's very family & pet friendly and the end is worth every second.

This is one of my favorite local hikes although these days it's a really busy trail the 8 mile round trip is worth the view though last time we hiked it we went to watch the sunset from the top and didn't realize how fast the trail got dark so being unprepared as we were it was a little rough at times.

Interesting little park with a lot of all run down buildings really cool for photography and just wandering around outside

Once we figured out which direction to go on the AT the hike was fairly nice. A long gentle field uphill followed by a shorter but steeper down before we got to the "shortcut" point (which is on rt 629 not 630). The uphill to the tree is a lot steeper than expected for a beginner hike but it isn't far to the tree which is pretty impressive after all
