Brough the kayak down here to check out this stretch of the Potomac. Although its a little grungy in some areas, the river is really peaceful and a lot of fun to explore by kayak/canoe. There are plenty of local rental companies as well if you need a boat!

Nice, although less impressive as section A. That being said, I was looking for a nice alternative one day to avoid the crowds. Its pretty easy going with lots of shade. Fun rock scrambles too.

Really enjoyed this one when I was looking for a short trail run. Couple of stream crossings so keep that in mind as you plan your trip!

Brought the pup here for an evening stroll and it was solid. Quaint, quiet, and peaceful. The dog enjoyed all the smells/sights, too.

I had been working up to doing a trail run here for awhile. Its got a hefty elevation gain, so don't underestimate the climb! But well worth it. Nice trail!

Didn't have the place to myself, but the trail was well kept and maintained. I was happy about the distance, too... Not bad at all for a quick trip to a 78' waterfall!

This was super pleasant during the winter. It wasn't too cold (although pretty windy up top, so layer up) and I'd done the hike (as a run) earlier in the year so I knew what to expect.

Not a bad spot! The rock formation at the top is pretty neat, too. Knocked this out on a trail run and was stoked! Not too hot during the spring, either.

Wasn't the biggest fan of this hike, but if you're not looking for an overlook its nice! I think if I come back to do it again, I'll do a trail run instead.

I'm personally not a fan of the graffiti up here, but its a local site nonetheless. I'd stop through if you're nearby, but its an okay spot to skip, too.

C&O path is nice, usually well kept and clean. It's good for bringing the dogs along (leashed) and the rest of the family.

That initial climb is an absolute burner! Open views at the top though, and the boulder field is neat to explore.

This is fun during summer! Lots of green fills the area and the fire pits make for a nice evening. We were able to pack in more than usual since its an easier hike, too!

Awesome view from this park. It's a great location if you're looking to take some landscape photos of the river, falls, and town. Don't forget to stop through the town! Its a charming area.

Not too bad if you're local and want a quick hike for an overlook. Not the best though, either. Lots of ambient noise.

Actually really enjoyed checking this out. The tunnel is a bit spooky in the evening (or anytime for that matter) but its a fun location to explore and photograph. Theres a lot of history behind this too, definitely recommend checking it out.

These were great falls for a long exposure. The water was moving fast (recent rainfall) and although it was a bit brighter out than I would have wanted, it still allowed me to keep the exposure right and capture the motion of the water.

The area is beautiful during the fall. Plenty of backroads to explore, especially for b-roll shots if you're looking to capture a big landscape photo while you're here.

I haven't come across something like this before. Its a great area to horse around (safely, of course), fish, and take photos. There are special trout regulations but nothing most fisherman aren't used to. Make sure your license is up to date!

Check this out as an overnight (don't forget a permit) to have the best seat in the house for sun-up. Its a gorgeous overlook!

Came here on a weekday evening and got one of the sites with a view. It was a unique place with plenty of nooks and crannies to get interesting perspectives for photos.

Came here in January and absolutely loved it. The rocks at the bottom of the falls were covered in ice and it made for some epic photos!

The path is paved, very relaxing, and leads out into a grand overlook. Came here with a small group and had the place to ourselves for sunset (on a Friday night, too).

Came here after hiking up at Roan Highlands. Although it was crowded, I didn't find it to be an issue. Theres plenty of space and the water feels great during the summer!
