It was fun, don't get me wrong, but it gets super crowded after dark. I've done it thrice at night, from September through November, and it was crowded every time. Also, beware just how scalding hot the uppermost pool can be, especially as it get colder.

We went during the day, so no sunset for us, but the Lindon Marina has a great deal on Mondays. $25 per car (up to 5 people, $5 per extra person) gets you unlimited access to their rentals from 9AM-9PM. That includes kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, a paddle boat and more. It was awesome and we spent a couple hours on the lake, plus there is the option to come back later if you want.

We went out on a weekend night in mid-May and had to compete with OHV-ers for a campsite, which is why it is downgraded a star, but the site itself was wonderful. Brought a telescope and were able to see Saturn's rings and Jupiter's stripes. Slept under the stars between two sand dunes. Just be aware that the wind tends to pick up in the morning, around 9 or so. Great site to see the sky though.
