Gorgeous hike through the forrest beside a flowing mountain stream. There are more than one rewarding waterfalls on this hike.

Once you have parked the car just past the creek, there will be a trail small trail entrance on the left about 20-30 more yards up the road. You should be able to hear the first falls at this point as they are just to the left of the gravel roadway.

The first section of the trail is a pretty steep downhill climb so be careful about slipping on the straw. About 30 yards down the hill you will see a fork where some have continued down the hill to the right, and then another path to the left. Take the path to the left to see the first falls. The falls are only about another 50 yards down the path and you will be able to hear them. This is the single tiered 35 foot falls.

From here go back to the fork in the path, and then head downstream by taking the right fork. You will hike along the creek for the next 2 miles. There is no true marked trail so be sure to not wander to far away from the sound of the water as you travel. Along the way you will travel through thick patches of rhododendron at times, and see many beautiful small cascades and rapids.

Once you have reached the second level of the falls there will be a lookout area atop the falls. Move around this area with care and do not get to close to the edge. On the right side of the creek there is a path to the bottom to get a great vantage point for photos and hanging out. This falls is the 45 foot 2 tier falls seen in the photos above. There is another small cascade about 20 yards down stream from here if you are interested.

With the large falls at the beginning and at the end it was clear many people did not continue on to the second falls but I highly recommend it because the sight and sound was very rewarding for the 2 mile hike there. Always remember LeaveNoTrace and enjoy the adventure!
