I would argue this is the best place to see the Redwoods in Northern California! It's amazing and beautiful at every turn.

You can hike from above and not have to pay for parking for a 1-2 hour hike. You can also hike at the base of the park for an easy short 1 mile hike if you pay the park fee and then stop there or keep going to explore. Either way, it's relatively accessible for all beginner hikers. Beautiful redwoods everywhere with views that you won't want to miss out on. 

Always practice Leave No Trace ethics on your adventures and follow local regulations.
