An amazing 360 degree views of Bay Area.
To get to Angel Island, you have take a ferry from downtown Tiburon which is between $5-10 per adult. The ferry ride is very short, about 15 minutes including parking the boat.
Once you arrive on Angel Island, there are few things to do. People go there to camp or just hike and explore for a day. I love jazzy feel in the restaurants where you can eat food and built up energy for some what easy hike.
When I go to the Angel Island is always for a day either ride my bike around the island and couple times I just hiked to the top of the island and back down. The hike up the island is 2 miles long, very short but straight up the hill. Believe it or not, its pretty easy and not that hard. As you hike higher you get to see beautiful views of Tiburon, Sausalito and San Francisco. Once you are on top you have a perfect 360 view of the whole Bay Area. I have seen people take wedding images there, I dont blame them, its absolutely amazing.
You have a choice to hike in any direction either up the hill or along the water and around the island.
Its a lovely experience, feels little bit more touristy than other hikes around in Marin County, but still very lovely. Enjoy! g
