Description

Limantour is a great spot for you your dog and enjoy your beach time. Keep an eye out for migrating grey whales or harbor seals.

The entire drive to Pt. Reyes is picturesque, but once you make it to Limantour, you and your dog can both get out and enjoy it! This area, between Drake's Bay and an estuary, allows you to spend time relaxing or head out for a run (keep the dog on leash). If you're lucky you might either get a chance to take in the harbor seals or grey whales. Keep in mind that you should stay to the southeast with your dog as the northwest part of the beach is a protected area for harbor seals.

If you're there late in the afternoon and the fog is cooperating, get the camera ready and take in an amazing sunset.

After you've spent time taking in the coastline, if you're not in a big hurry, head to the Marshall Store about 30 minutes away to finish off a great day with a few oysters and beer.

Walk along Limantour Beach Reviews

This is one of the best beaches in the Bay Area for relaxing, walking, and, especially, nature. There are a myriad of hiking trails in the vicinity, but walking the massive beach is an epic hike in itself. The water and the wind is calm because it’s in Drake’s Bay, blocked from the mighty Pacific climate.

Took my pup here today. Beach wasn't much crowded. Arrived during sunset and was very beautiful.

This beach is great for dogs with a nice, gentle surf and a wide beach.
