Overall rating:

I had a great time exploring the Avenue of the Giants. Unfortunately, it was raining, so most of the time I was just in my car, but driving through these enormous trees was great! If you like listening to music/audiobooks/podcasts and just driving, this is a great adventure. The drive up to this area was also a great one, mountains, more trees, state parks, little tourists traps. I had a great time!

Gorgeous Groves!

Avenue of the Giants is pretty amazing and very easy to access. I love the variety of the different groves along the avenue and the park is very well kept. Huge variety of hiking, strolling, swimming/tubing, fishing, and even climbing trees if that's your thing! There are usually alot of tourists in the area during the afternoons so morning is usually best (lighting too). Please do not bring your pups as they are not allowed on the trails. Some of my favorite groves on the avenue include 1) Grieg French Bell Grove, 2) Women's Federation Grove, 3) Bull Creek Flats/Big Trees, & 4) Rockefeller Grove

A magical place indeed

If you are one who has a huge respect for trees - this is especially such a beautiful place. Never have I felt so small amongst these wise giants. There are tons of pull-offs to pick from so chances are you can find a nice dose of solitude on the various trails / off-shoots. If you get a second - learn about the roots of the Redwood trees. It's beautiful that they are interconnected with one another and support each other.
