Simply drive south out of Carmel-by-the-Sea and 4 miles out of Carmel on the right hand side is the entrance to the park. If you wish, you can pay the entrance fee, $8 and drive into the park. I you are on a budget and don't want to pay. parking is available just outside the park. From there it is only a 1 mile walk to the farthest point in the park. There are many beachs and coves to explore in Point Lobos, but it is a relatively small park. You can see all the park has to offer in a day, just hiking and picnicking around the park.Wildlife is abundant in Point Lobos from sea birds to whales.
