Description

Added by Keegan Donley

Located 5 miles north of St. Helena, Bothe offers beautiful hikes along nearly 10 miles of trails with views of the Napa Valley.

The trailhead at Bothe-Napa State Park starts off at a nice picnic area to enjoy something to eat before beginning hiking for the day. Once you get going, there's a great network of trails that meander along the creek through a wide variety of vegetation. At a gentle climb, the Redwood and Ritchey Canyon trails offer a great 2-mile or 3-mile loop. Multiple trails branch off from these, allowing for a much longer or shorter hike. Consequently, the park caters to a wide variety of hikers, and the trails contain such a wide variety of environments that there's something for everyone!

Or, if it's your style, wine and cheese can be enjoyed at the picnic area before embarking on a journey through the ferns along the calming creek.

The entrance fee is $8 for the day, which is money well spent due to the amount of time that can be spent in the park thanks to the wide offering of trails.

Towering redwoods and vivid green foliage make this an unforgettable spot to spend the day, and you'll want to come back again and again!

A trail map can be found in the Bothe-Napa SP brochure.
