Located at the intersection of Spruce Street and First Avenue this spot is hard to miss! There is no parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking nearby!! This suspension bridge is one of those hidden gems in San Diego. Located within Banker's Hill, this bridge brings peace and serenity. It floats above the street and is among many treetops, at 375 feet long and held up by steel suspension cables docked to concrete blocks. Because the bridge is so light it sways as the result of wind or people walking across. It's a little wiggly and may be scary at first but don't fear because it's very sturdy!

Many people come here to take pictures, have a picnic, dangle their legs off the side of the bridge, walk their dog, enjoy each others company, and some come just to chill and enjoy the peace. There's lots of opportunity here at this bridge and there's a lot within the area. So it's a great thing to add into your day if you're in the area.

The bridge was designed to provide pedestrian passage across a deep canyon, which isolated developing neighborhoods from the newly built trolley lines that you find on fourth and fifth avenues. At the middle of this bridge you can also catch a glimpse of the downtown skyline. This suspension bridge is considered a hidden gem within San Diego and is a great place for both natives and tourist to check out.

After, go indulge in some dessert at Extraordinary DessertsYou won't regret it and I think you deserve it!

Go Under the Bridge!

I would also recommend going under the bridge. There are a couple dirt slopes down, that could be a little sketchy, but definitely worth it! The view from below was amazing with the plants and wildflowers. Be a little careful though since there were some questionable holes that cranky critters could pop out from.
