This trail has been permanently closed. Some travelers considered going anyway but the police are not joking around. There’s 3 layers of barbed wire and rangers stationed to prevent people from sneaking in. One of the locals also told me that if anything happens to a tourist the country gets less funding from the Red Cross.

Overall a good mountain to get acclimated to the elevation. The upper part is all large (6-12") rocks (somewhat loose). Make sure to pay attention to your route, there are a few subtle forks, and if you're not paying attention you could end up on an unexpected path. Some are steep and covered in large rocks, still doable, but lack a defined trail at parts.
