The Best Waterfall Hikes near Bend, Oregon

Come for the waterfalls, stay for the beer.

When people think of waterfalls in Oregon, thoughts can quickly turn to Multnomah Falls, the Columbia River Gorge, and proximity to Portland. These waterfalls are undoubtedly magnificent, but that shouldn’t lead you to miss out on Portland’s neighboring city, Bend, which has more than its fair share of stunning falls surrounding its local area. Not to mention some of the best breweries to enjoy after a long hike. So when you plan your next adventure in search of your next Instagram post, landscape photo, or better yet, memory, take a look at the following for inspiration.

1. Marion Falls

Although this trail is frequently hiked, most people are heading to Marion Lake and miss the turn-off to Marion Falls. This off-trail waterfall is a short hike from from the main trail allowing close up views of two falls. Once you take it all in, head to Marion Lake to kick back and relax. 2. Linton Falls

This beautiful 4 mile hike through the Three Sisters Wilderness takes you to arguably two of Oregon's most stunning and lesser known waterfalls. This hike is just under 1 hour from Bend, assuming highway 242 is open. Learn More.

3. Proxy Falls

Take an easy 1-mile hike to this cascading waterfall, which flows 226 feet over 2 streams. This hike is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Bend. Learn More.

4. Tumalo Falls

An easy 1 mile hike leads you to this iconic waterfall, which veils over 220 feet. Once you make it to the falls, take it all in right at the base. Just remember to bring a rain jacket. This hike is approximately 30 minutes from Bend. Learn More.

5. Sahalie and Koosah Falls

Starting at the 100-foot Sahalie Falls, head out on a 2.6 mile loop that will take you through old-growth forests to the 70-foot Koosah Falls. This hike is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Bend. Learn More.
