Awesome hike with scenic views constantly. Going down is easier than going back up... keep that in mind! We went far down, not realizing the hike up would be much more grueling.

This park has a lot to do, from the waterpark, to the hiking trails and lookouts, to the many cabins. It provides scenic views of the Missouri River from above and shaded trails to explore the area more. It would be an awesome park for a family gathering. Just know that there is an entrance fee.

This park was way bigger than we thought. It had multiple playgrounds, campground, picnic areas, and walking trails. The trail spans the park and travels along the water and through wooded areas. Picnic areas are shaded and playgrounds are kept well. Would definitely recommend!

Nice hike in Marion with lots to see along the way. When I went, I saw multiple people mountain biking, so that must be a popular trail in the area for that. Nice hike that doesn't take too long.

Nice trail along Lake Macbride that is pretty easy to hike. The spillway and the beach are both destination points that are also very scenic. There are points along the way that have benches to sit at, too.

Awesome place to hike just outside Denver. We attended an Easter service at the Amphitheater here and got to watch the sunrise climb above Denver. The hikes around the area are awesome and not anything excessive.

My parents lived out in Fort Collins for years, and every time I visited, we had to hit Poudre Canyon. It’s a beautiful drive winding along the river, and the trails are stunning. If you can, try and go towards the end of September when leaves are in full color.

Was here during the fall and all the trees were beautiful. Situated along the river, it’s extremely peaceful and right outside Cedar Rapids.

Cool park in the city with a big waterfall. They closed off ways to get right to the falls, but you can cross a bridge and walk around it. Interesting people there. Last time, a yogi was doing handstands on the bridge rail.. pretty impressive!

Easy hike to the falls. They’re pretty low-grade in terms of waterfalls, so walking around them is easy. Nice scenic area to watch the kayakers go by.

Nice trail near the lake with lots of nature to see along the way. As the name suggests, keep your eyes out for birds flying around or perched in the trees.

Beautiful area with a huge reservoir. You can catch fishermen, kayakers, and other activities on the water, or you can hike around the trails surrounding the reservoir. Pass needed to park at some trailheads.

Really neat trail with mountain bike trail nearby. There’s a campground close as well. Lots of bikers in the area. Definitely would recommend if you’re in the Iowa City area!

Beautiful park around Lake Macbride with lots of areas to hike. There are swings located around the area that allow for great sights while you sit. Easy access from Iowa City or Cedar Rapids!

Nice and easy walk around the pond. There are kayak rentals as well, but have never done that. Just a few minutes from campus. I frequented this park a lot while studying at Iowa.

Neat area to hike near Sioux Falls. We camped and had a great time checking out the trails and watching kayakers.

Awesome day trip. Head down some steep stairs, and you’re able to hike along the water up close to the falls. Nice picnic areas in the area as well!
