There are better views on the mountain but none as accessible as this one. It's best in winter without all the tree cover. Always plenty of spots in the lot and pretty good for sunset, can't see the settings sun but can get some good lighting and colors

Stopped here twice today (Sunday), once around 2pm and again at 6 for sunset. It was packed both times. At sunset there were at least three separate photo shoots happening and lot of people just enjoying the views. Beautiful and lots of space to spread out and have a peaceful sunset or just people watch.

Definitely getting busier every year but it's definitely worth a visit and it's even better to camp!

They are perfect for watching the stars lots of open space. No tree cover so probably a little rough for a multi hot day trip. They have a nice bathroom at the end of the loop.

Hiked up for the sunrise. I was the only one up there. It was very peaceful but cloudy. I think I went up on a separate trail because on the way up I didn't do a rock scramble but I did on the way down...

This is my absolute favorite running trail in the park, you get some elevation change, Which is rare in Hampton Roads. It's just over 6 miles if you run it from Hot Tuna. Pretty swamp views but the lack of water access is what keeps it pretty low traffic most days.

I love the sugar hollow reservoir it's such a beautiful area. I did this hike as part of a larger hike that looped from Shenandoah NP. It was late fall and not much foot traffic but lots of critters! Water crossing were low and no need to take off shoes, my dog had a blast splashing around.

Went late in the day and it was like a magical forest with the sun shining through the trees. There are some giants strewn about the trail here and there. So much lush greenery and beautiful ferns, I half expected to see a dinosaur.

Such a great hike. Lots of switchbacks to the overlook. The overlook is amazing even in a partially clear day! When I went there was almost no one else on the trail. Careful of your food and bags there are some seriously nosy marmots up there.

Very nice casual walking trail well maintained, pretty crowded at the beginning but the farther you go the more it thinks out. Truely amazing to see these giants, well worth the trip!

Great trail with a surprising amount of wild life. I always park at the Mariners Museum lot, but there is another trailhead by the water. The trail is very well marked, they even mark some of the prominent roots that are trip hazards.

This is a steep up hill, one shoulf take their time going up. It's so close to the Honolulu it's an easy after work sunset hike! I could do this trail 1000 times. It's more like a workout with a good view at the end.

I am not an independent snorkeling type of person, this place was perfect. You pay a fee and watch a video to enter. You can rent gear or bring your own. I bought some cheap stuff at Ross before I went so I would have it my whole trip. I saw lots of fish! Would go again for sure

Steep but short! Amazing views on a clear day just breathtakingly gorgeous. There are some rope section on the way up but most of them you can make it without.

I drove to the parking lot once to see the moon rise and it was beautiful! The next time I went I did the full "hike" it's a paved uphill walk. I noticed lots of cool little plants on the wall up and some good Views at the top.

I've been a handful of times. Windy days it's nice to just walk the beach because laying out was not an option. Beautiful water, soft sand, great views. Parking lot is busy of weekends and tourist season, but I never had to circle more than twice to get a spot, lots of movement in and out. I've also rented kayaks from up the road and kayaked out to the nearby islands which is an awesome way to spend an afternoon!

The hike flat but lots of washed out trail sections and parallel trails running all around to the beach and inland a bit. I always start the trail from the north shore section of Farrington Hwy. When you get close to the point there might be a ton of albatross nesting and doing fun little mating dances? I'm not sure, but it was cool to watch. Also monk seals just chilling in the beach inlets can be fun to watch or they just look like they are dead... Probably aren't so keep your distance!

Nice place for a walk and some history. Plenty of easy parking. There are some sections of trail in the nearby woods but for the most part you're exposed to the sun in the battlefield so sunscreen up. I went on a cold windy spring day and the sun was so strong it kept me warm and I got a little burn on my cheeks.

There is a small lot at the bay that regularly has cars going in and out so its possible to find a spot, you just have to pray for good luck. The bay has a great rock to jump in the water, if it's the right time of year! The waves get pretty crazy here in the winter and they even host big surf comps here. Definitely worth a visit!

There is a lot of pretty flowers and cool stuff to see. Tons of trails, mostly flat and accessible, less so on the outer portions of the garden. They have a butterfly garden running sometimes, and then rotating outdoor art exhibit. The entry is kind of expensive, but I love to go and run the back wooded trails. It's nice to get out of the busy streets!

Decent trail with overlooks on Lake Smith. Pretty good for a jog, easy to get a little turned around as there are lots of little feeder trails that dead end, but not large enough to get lost. Good for a jog. Lots of parking.

This is such a great route for running in Norfolk. You get spectacular views over the Lafayette and in downtown Norfolk. Minimal street crossings.
