I found out about Lackawaxen lake summitting Clayton Peak, and it looked so beautiful and so not crowded like Bloods Lake. I will definitely have to spend a night there, thank you for sharing!

One of the most beautiful hikes in Little Cottonwood Canyon. We also camped up here but right below Devil's Castle to avoid the crowds in the morning. Definitely recommend it.

It's such a beautiful lake and so short! It's perfect for a before-work/after-work hike, or actually perfect anytime!

It's so beautiful with snow. We used crampons in March and it was perfect enough. We had no one with us once we reached the lake, and it was absolutely wonderful (not that i mind people, i love them). But, i feel like it's much longer than 2.8 each way, every time I have measured it, it comes a little over 3 miles, just thought i'd share.

I will have to say, the part when you reach "Jacob's Ladder" can be pretty brutal on a super hot day! So plan your time accordingly. You reach Jacob's ladder at about 2.09 miles from the trailhead (you will see a sign pointing to the start of the "ladder"). I agree with you, one of the best summits in Utah.

This is such an awesome spot! It's a life-saver when you want to beat the heat on those hot and dry summer days in Moab. I had no idea locals called it "Power Dam"! Good to know.
